Are we so consumed with the internet that we are losing valuable social skills? Can the internet provide you with the same sense of community that our parents experienced in their youth? How has corporate America changed now that employee's would rather send an email or IM to communicate rather than ask you out to lunch or coffee? Can you build viable relationships by simply using FB, twitter or other modes of social media? There was a time when you only had a private self and a public self does the internet add a third personality to that equation with your “internet self?” Are we becoming a schizophrenic society? Is community an extinct concept or is it simply redefined? Our local news, movies, reality shows and FB posts only express anger or joy and nothing in between. Is technology responsible for society's inability to effectively communicate emotions?
